relief

we have daycare for Jasper. It's not ideal, in that they can give me 2 months notice if an employee in the building its housed in (Sydney's first and I believe currently only 5star green building) needs a spot, but we have a place, in a good centre, walking distance from work. The baby health clinic nurse told me not to worry about it, that miracles happen and to just keep in contact with the places I really wanted. And look what has happened. A happy moment laden with maternal guilt and anxiety. Is there any other?

No. There is no other kind. You're right.
However, revel in the sheer heaven that is daycare.close.to.work. and especially for little guys. This way, he doesn't have to be weaned, you can go straight over to feed him whenever you and he feel like it (special note, live the joy of public sector employment and dare them to say no) and the moment he gets a sniffle (inevitable) or temperature (highly likely) you can be there: alert but no alarmed.
This is, in terms of our kind of world, very good news indeed.

"Alert but not Alarmed"? Bec ,you're starting to sound like You-Know-Who.....
Keep drawing attention like this, and two computer checks and a phone call and Baby Jasper will have one of those grey-suited guys checking on him and Kim as "potentionals"....Well , he does look pissed -off occasionally,(no offence, Kim)
