AND

AND Jasper has a cold. Coughing Snot Sneezing A FEVER and his 4 month immunisation was due tomorrow, which now can't be done until he has no cold, which factoring in the start at daycare means NEVER and yes the world is ending. The WORLD IS ENDING.

Why can't he have his immunisation? Is this another one of those stupid new rules like (keep them facing backward in the car seat until they can kick a soccer goal from the half-way line?)

Yes - if they are sick in any way shape or form they will not jab them. Apparently even if he just had a runny nose (not the fever etc).

We have an appt at 12.15 to 'make the call'.

Actually it's a sensible rule, as jabbing them gives them a tiny dose of whatever illness you're trying to prevent (tetanus, w.cough etc), so giving it to them when they're already sick is kind of like kicking them when they're down.

Sorry for the uh ... rant. Ahem. It was meant to be an explanation, but upon re-reading it, I'm aware it sounds rantish.

And it's one long snotfest from hereon, isn't it?

(Can you tell I have to work tomorrow and Monday too, for the first time in months? Just when I was getting used to being an at home mum.)

why is that? When we just get comfortable in our skin the world up and changes and makes us put on a different outfit that itches, scratches and gathers in all the wrong places.

On a highly superficial level MY GOODNESS it was lovely putting on work clothes, stockings (I LOVE stockings, even in summer)and HIGH HEELS (not that high) and just feel part of it for a few hours.

BTW - the reason I'm up is the sick Jasper boy who has basically breast fed fairly continuously since 7.30pm. Is still carrying a moderate temperature, will not swallow 0.1ml of Panadol, has done one projectile vomit (onto me) and is now rooting around in his cot for the dummy on mummy. GOD you never ever forget these long nights with sick kids do you. It's just 'here we go'...
